Sparkjaw is angry. Actually, that’s an understatement – Sparkjaw IS INCANDESCENT WITH RAGE. While many of the New World’s titans have tragic backstories, tales of woe that chronicle their falls from glory, or special motivations behind their desire to crush, maim, and destroy, Sparkjaw has none of these things, because Sparkjaw is simply an incredibly angry, hateful, and dangerous wyvern… and always has been. As a small drake, it constantly bullied and shoved its littermates to the point where its parents had to separate it from the others. As an adolescent, it struck out on its own the moment it realized it could, feeling its family was not sufficiently accepting of its natural desire for destruction and mayhem. It has challenged beasts many times its size, gotten into heaps of trouble, and generally escalated every situation it could find into a fight.
Vorm didn’t even bother to have an interaction with Sparkjaw when he decided to bless the wyvern with his gifts, figuring (correctly) that the creature would immediately attack him on principle. Not wanting to damage such a being of perfect rage, Vorm simply granted Sparkjaw a small portion of his power from afar, then sat back with a grim smile, eager to see the continuing rampage that would ensue. Now Sparkjaw is more dangerous than ever, desiring no friends, no mates, and no conversation beside cries of battle. One has to admire the clarity of its mind, the simple directness of such hate, but like Vorm, it is probably best to admire these sorts of things from very, very far away.
